Project(s)/Tasks: Provide feedback to department regarding new trends in social media. Create summaries and suggestions to submit to management team. Co-management of social networking and branding and for sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Digg, etc.
Assist Director of New Media with tasks daily operations of the new media department. Assist the New Media department in re-sizing graphics and web banners to fit a variety of media outlets. Regular checks of advertising inventory, public comments and content on fuel.tv website. Sit-in on meetings and take notes during select meetings with full-time staff at FUEL TV. On-site event marketing and activation opportunities with the Marketing department Support other marketing initiatives as it relates to New Media and website traffic.
Learning Objectives: Gain overall knowledge of how a New Media department fits into the FUEL TV brand and network Become familiar with webcasts of action sports events nationally and globally. Become familiar with terms such as SEO, SEM and learn how to perform check-ups on active campaigns Work closely with Admin Assistant, Sr Web Producer, Director of New Media and two other part-time interns to effectively meet all deadlines. Become familiar with using a company e-mail address, management of personal calendar, file organization and working in an un-traditional yet professional office setting.
Qualifications: Preferred Area of Study: Telecommunications, Broadcast, Film, Marketing, IST, and/or Graphic Design Interns should be proficient in MAC and PC platforms, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word). All interns should be self-motivated and excited to work at FUEL TV, the only 24/7 action sports television channel! To work in the New Media department all candidates should be familiar with the FUEL.TV website, network and also have personal Twitter, Facebook and other social networking accounts. All part-time, full-time and temporary employees of FUEL TV should have exceptional written and personal communication skills, attention to detail and high energy.
